That’s What HE Said Thursday #9 – The Best Kind of Magic

Hosted by: Chapter Break

That’s What HE Said Thursday is about posting a favorite line from your book boyfriend to his heroine. Keep in mind these are direct quotes from dialogue in a book. It is NOT a physical description of a male protag or a paragraph of dialogue. It is a line spoken by our favorite heroes to their lucky ladies (whom we so wish we were!!!!!!)

This week’s quote comes from The Best Kind of Magic by Crystal Cestari. Such a fun and awesome book about magic and love. Giving away a copy of the book. Click on the title to read my review and enter before the giveaway ends in about 24 hours!

“Amber, I don’t know what’s going on in that head of yours, but I want you to know: every time I’m around you, I feel like a non-fatal firework is lit inside me. It’s magic—actual magic—and you’ll have to forgive the pun, but I don’t want to be under anyone else’s spell.”

– Charlie to Amber

Love, love, love this book. And this quote gave me all the feels.

Check it out, guys!

I haven’t done one of these posts in forever! Then again, I haven’t READ in forever! So glad to be back to reading and my blog 🙂

This week’s quote comes from Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. Yes, I’m FINALLY reading this book. I bought it awhile back, and I figured this would be the perfect book to start off the new year.

“‘Sometimes, Clark, you are pretty much the only thing that makes me want to get up in the morning.”

– Will to Lou

I’m still reading this book, so I don’t know what is going to happen, but I read this part last night, and it just got to me. It is kind of the first time he expresses any type of feelings toward her. I loved it. I literally put the book down for a second and then read it a few more times. I have a feeling I am going to cry my eyes out soon…

Have you guys read this yet? Did this quote affect you as much as it affected me?

This week’s quote comes from Finding Gabriel by Rachel L. Demeter. Okay, this guy tries to commit suicide and shoots himself in the face but somehow lives and is then rescued by the lovely Ariah. Clearly, he is damaged. So, it was nice to see him open up to her in this quote.

“‘I won’t pretend that I deserve you. I am faithless. I have done unforgivable things. And I am broken.’ He gestured to his face and body with trembling hands. ‘I know you see past these things when you look at me…but I hope I can be enough for you.'”

– Gabriel to Ariah

This guy. I just felt for him all throughout this book. Both he and Ariah have been through A LOT, so I loved seeing them find each other and try to move on from their horrible pasts. Great book!

What do you guys think of Gabriel? And feel free to share your link so I can visit your blog 🙂

I have kind of been on a roll with book boyfriends lately. Here is another one, who may just top the others for now. Sin is definitely a tough guy who shows no feelings and doesn’t let anyone in. He is the rebel leader and isolates himself. But, Sunny begins to change him a little…

ghetto12hq-2

“If things were different, I could love you for the rest of my life.”

– Sin to Sunny

(Ghetto by M.L. Sparrow)

Oh Sin. I seriously fell in love with this guy. He is a man of few words, and when he does talk, it is DEFINITELY NOT about his feelings, so this particular quote was a HUGE deal, and I literally had to set the book down for a minute just to take that in. I love that Sunny brings out this other side of him. Sin is at the top of my book boyfriend list right now, and I think he’ll be staying there for awhile.

Welcome to my favorite weekly meme! I had to share this guy with you today. Brent is a Reaper, but the sexy, southern, lumberjack-looking kind, and I couldn’t get enough of him. So, here are a few quotes that show different sides of him:

The_Reapers_Kiss_1600

“‘I don’t date men without tattoos.’

‘Does that mean you want to see the dolphin on my left butt cheek? I assure you, it’s remarkable.’ His hands went for his ZZ Top belt buckle.”

“‘What in the world does that mean?’

‘Means it’s serious enough to talk about inside your apartment with the door locked and voices hush-hushed. Possibly in bed, under the sheets, naked while I make it up to you. I at least owe you that.'”

“‘I will go to hell and back for you,’ he whispered into my neck.

– Ollie and Brent

(The Reaper’s Kiss by Abigail Baker)

Oh Brent. I love this guy. He’s got such a cocky side, but it’s so damn sexy. Then, he has this sweet, protective side, which I also love. He’s at the top of my book boyfriend list right now.

What do you guys think of Brent? And feel free to share your link so I can visit your blog 🙂

That’s What HE Said Thursday #4 – Catching Cassidy

So I started reading Catching Cassidy by Melissa Foster, and I instantly fell in love with Wyatt. There were just so many quotes I could choose from. So I had to choose a couple. And since I am in the middle of the book, I will probably pick more for next week’s post as well.

Cassidy and Wyatt have been best friends since they were little. Wyatt is now dealing with the tragic death of his parents, and he is now realizing his true feelings for Cassidy. And Cassidy is realizing the same thing. BUT, neither of them wants to ruin their friendship.

In the first quote, Cassidy had too much to drink the night before and realizes that Wyatt helped her get out of her clothes last night. In the second quote, Wyatt is voicing his concerns about starting a relationship with Cassidy.

“Don’t worry. I didn’t grope you or sell tickets for everyone to see your boobs. You probably owe me for that. I bet I could have made a lot of money.”

“What if we…don’t make it? What if we do this…? And it doesn’t work between us? I can’t lose you, Cass. It’s too much. I need you.”

– Wyatt to Cassidy

(Catching Cassidy by Melissa Foster)

Wyatt has so many different sides to him, and I love them all. These quotes are just small examples of the awesomeness that is him. He’s definitely an alpha male who gets a little possessive and overprotective, but he also has a sense of humor and a vulnerable side. I love it. I love all of it. And this book is soooooo good so far. I can’t put it down. Expect a review soon…

I missed last week’s because I just didn’t have a good quote to share. Not a good week on the book boyfriend front. Thankfully, that all changed with a book called Back To Us by Teresa Roman. Jessica and Justin have had rough lives, and they come together and teach each other how to love again. Such a sweet story. So, here is the quote that got me:

26064336

“I’m scared,” he finally said.

“Scared of what?”

“That you’ll break me.”

– Justin and Jessica

(Back To Us by Teresa Roman)

Okay, you have to understand that Justin can come off as this tough military guy, but this scene showed his vulnerability and that he’s ultimately afraid of getting hurt, which made me love him so much more.

That’s What HE Said Thursday #2 – Before & After

Thursdays have become my new favorite blogging day because of this meme. So, for this week’s quote, Peyton was in a bad accident and can’t remember Rike, but being the amazing book boyfriend that he is, he had things like this to say to her:

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000026_00033]

“I love you. I always will. But I’m not going to force you into this because I do. Not when you can’t remember loving me. I love you too much for that. I would walk away and wait for you to come to me. I would wait for you forever, if I had to.”

– Rike to Peyton

(Before & After by Nazarea Andrews)

At that point, I wouldn’t even care if I remembered him or not. I would melt in his arms and say “I love you too!” And isn’t Rike such a sexy bad boy name?! Check out the book. You’ll love him too!

This is another meme I’ve been wanting to do, and since I recently fell in love with a new book boyfriend, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to start.

23346285

“You aren’t one of many…In fact, you’re quite the opposite. I have been going out of my fucking mind trying to avoid you because I knew, God-damnit, I knew one night with you wouldn’t be enough. All I could fucking see was you, all I wanted was you, Kennedy.”

Dane to Kennedy

(The Line Between by Tamsyn Bester)

Yeah. So you can clearly see why I am in love with this guy. I’m not sure I’ll be falling for another book boyfriend quite as hard as I fell for Dane. This is just one of the many quotes that had me falling head over heels for him. Ahh! I can’t get enough of him! I need to go back and reread this book 🙂
