Stacking the Shelves #6

STSmall[4]Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in a physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course eBooks!

This has been the first week in a long time that I didn’t go to the bookstore! Good thing for me though. I have too many stacks of books that need to be read. I don’t need to add more until I start reading the ones I already have. Who are we kidding though? I’ll always find a way to get more books haha! I didn’t buy any this week, but I still got some. Here’s my haul 🙂

Romancing the Dark in the City of Light by Ann Jacobus

I got this in the mail this week. I won it through the Goodreads First Reads Giveaway program. I was ecstatic when I won! I’m so excited to read this one! And Paris must be calling my name. I just finished reading a book that took place in Paris, I’m reading another one that takes place in Paris now, and now I get this one. Interesting…

I got all these books for $2.00. And I am super happy about it! I watched the first three movies, and I have been wanting to read the books FOREVER, so I couldn’t resist when I saw these. The other three just sounded like I would enjoy them. Plus, I’ve heard such great things about Jennifer Weiner, and I haven’t read any of her books yet.

The Memory Keeper’s Daughter by Kim Edwards

One Day by David Nicholls

The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks

I got these for a total of $2.00. I’ve been wanting to read The Memory Keeper’s Daughter. It has always intrigued me. I’ve been avoiding the One Day movie because I really want to read the book first. And I saw The Last Song movie, and I actually really liked it (pre-psychotic Miley), so I need to read the book.

My goal was to decrease the amount of books I get each week, but that doesn’t seem to be working. Here’s my haul for this week:

PURCHASED

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen

The Help by Kathryn Stockett

The Little Lady Agency and The Prince by Hester Browne

Little Lady, Big Apple by Hester Browne

I haven’t read this Sarah Dessen book, but I’ve heard great things, so I had to get it. I had to get The Help for obvious reasons, and I can’t believe I haven’t read it yet. And The Little Lady Agency books have been calling my name, so I had to get these. I just have to find the first one in the series now. Plus, I got all this for $2!

I got these three from NetGalley. I should really stay off that site, but every time I see a book I just have to read, I can’t help myself.

Oops, I did it again! I thought I went a little overboard last week with my haul of books, but I kinda went crazy again. I couldn’t help myself! So here are the books I got within just a few days this week:

PURCHASED

Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton

The Ex Files by Jane Moore

Bookends by Jane Green

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith

Married Lovers by Jackie Collins

White Oleander by Janet Fitch

I have wanted to read Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and White Oleander for SO long, so I just had to get these. I’ve heard great things about Bookends from other blogs I follow, so that was a must-buy. And the others just sounded interesting. Plus, the used bookstore was having a sale: 3 hardcover books for $1.00. Of course, I had to buy 6!

The first five were eBooks that I just HAD to have, so I requested them on NetGalley and was so happy to be approved for them. I saw The Accident Season at First to Read, and it sounded pretty awesome so I used my points to guarantee access to that one. And Haunted on Bourbon Street was a free Nook book at Barnes & Noble that I’ve heard good things about.

Okay, I need to ban myself from bookstores and from NetGalley for now. I just can’t not get more books. It’s like I have no control when I see a cute cover or interesting synopsis. No more! As I’m writing this, I’m looking at the NetGalley tab that is open, and it’s calling my name. I need help!

So what do you think of my ridiculous haul? Any books you recommend reading first? And what books did you get this week? Please share and let me know I’m not the only one with a problem 🙂

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in a physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course e-books!

I am going to do this post on Saturdays normally, but I was busy this weekend with Father’s Day celebrations, so here it is.

I went a little book crazy this past week, so I thought it would be the perfect time to start my first Stacking the Shelves post. I won’t usually have this many…at least I hope not. Otherwise, I’ll never be able to read them all!

PURCHASED

227443 363752 509733

I found these books at my local used bookstore. I’ve been wanting to read the Bridget Jones books forever, and the other two sounded pretty good, so I had to get them, especially since I spent a total of $4.50! This is exactly why I go there every week…and why I should probably stop because my pile of books that need to be read is getting ridiculous.

I was approved for the first 6 e-books at NetGalley. I was selected to receive an e-book ARC of Mrs. Sinclair’s Suitcase at First to Read. And I received my paperback copy of Joyride, which I won from the Goodreads First Reads Giveaway program.

So, as you can see, I have a lot of books I need to read and review. Now to find the time…
