The Secret Life of a Book Blogger TAG

bookblog

I have been tagged by Josephine over at Cinderella Stories to do this blogger tag! Go check out her awesome blog! Thanks, Josephine! Excited to answer these questions 🙂

1. How long have you been a blogger?

I’ve only been blogging for a month. And it has been an awesome month! I have been reading and writing reviews for a long time, so I thought I would just do it in blog form, and I couldn’t be happier about that decision!

2. At what point do you think you will stop?

Never. Seriously. I love reading and writing reviews, so I really don’t see myself stopping. I may have to cut back and post less when I start working more, but I don’t think I will ever stop completely. Reading is my life, aside from my family, of course.

3. What is the best thing?

So many things! Receiving ARCs is awesome, of course. I have received so many in just one month because of my blog. Doing a blog really opens a door that leads to many opportunities for discovering new books and authors that I normally wouldn’t find, so that’s probably my favorite part. Also, I love interacting with fellow bloggers and authors. I don’t have many friends and family who read; it has always been kind of just me, so it is great to see other readers and what they’re reading.

4. What is the worst thing?

I really can’t think of any negative things. Maybe the fact that I’ve become addicted to this blog, so I have lost focus in my actual job, but I’ll live 🙂

5. How long does it take you to find/create pictures for your post?

Not very long. I just use pictures from Goodreads or from whoever is providing me with books, such as the authors or blog tour companies.

6. Who is your book crush?

I have too many! There are seriously too many to list. But, I will give an honorable mention to my newest that I just added to my favorite book boyfriend list last night: Dane from The Line Between by Tamsyn Bester. He is stubborn and frustrating at times but has this sweet, sexy, protective side that I LOVE. I could go on and on…and I will, in the review I will be posting shortly.

7. What author would you like to have on your blog?

Any and all authors! I’m not picky 🙂

8. What do you wear when you write your blog posts?

Usually my PJs because I tend to write my blog posts in the morning or at night. I like to be comfy!

9. How long does it take you to prepare?

I guess it depends on the post. Blog tour posts, like cover reveals or release day parties, don’t take too long because the info is provided for me. Memes and reviews sometimes can take an hour or two because I’m a perfectionist and I need everything to be just right.

10. How do you feel about the book/blogger community/culture?

I LOVE IT! Everyone is super friendly and helpful. I get so many ideas for my own blog, and I love making new friends with fellow readers and bloggers. Plus, I have gotten so many recommendations from other blogs. It’s awesome, and I’m so happy to be part of it 🙂

11. What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?

I am probably not the best person to get advice from since I’ve only been doing this for a month, but I will tell you how I have gotten followers and hits. Just get your name and blog name out there. Post memes and link up at the host blog’s post. You’ll get visitors who are doing the same memes, and most look around at the rest of your blog. Go to sites like Bloglovin. Discover new blogs and comment or follow them. A lot of bloggers will return the favor! Write your reviews on Goodreads and post a link to your blog. And of course, post often! I tend to follow blogs that post on a regular basis. And finally, it shouldn’t be a chore. Have fun with it!

I would like to nominate the following awesome blogs to participate in this blogger tag:
